1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible |
Active in LCOC since joining in 1998, his 1961 Convertible has become well known in Charlotte, where it’s been featured in several publications. John participated in LCOC Southern Region sponsored meets held at Calloway Gardens and Hickory, having developed the logo and auction for the Hickory meet, and served previously as a state manager, regional Secretary and now as Assistant Director. He has attended 9 National meets, winning a Lincoln Trophy in 2005.
Having wanted to own a 61 Lincoln since his grandmotherly neighbor used to drive him around in hers, his 61 Convertible has been a ground-up, step by step restoration project—progressing from a 2nd Primary at Calloway to winning the Lincoln Trophy. An avid reader of Lincoln material, he is active in the LCOC Forum, and has developed friendships in other LCOC Regions. John is President of his architectural firm in Charlotte.
John’s goals for the Southern Region are to strengthen the ties between members in our wide spread region, increase the routes and frequency of communication among us, and coordinate and promote more regional and ‘local’ events so members get to see each other and the cars we admire. An active SRLCOC can see its membership grow and opportunity for activities and camaraderie increase. |
